Praised by The American Scholar for her “sensitivity and imagination,” pianist Wan-Chi Su has captivated audiences across Asia, Europe, and the United States. She has appeared in distinguished venues including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, Salle Cortot in Paris, and the Taiwan National Concert Hall.

As a founding member of Duo Sorolla and an artist with the Piatigorsky Foundation, Dr. Su tours extensively throughout the United States, performing in both traditional concert series and unconventional venues in more than a dozen states. She frequently collaborates with musicians from the National, Baltimore, and Philadelphia Symphony Orchestras.

A passionate advocate for contemporary music, Dr. Su has premiered numerous works and collaborated with composers including George Walker, Aaron Jay Kernis, and Binna Kim. In addition to her work as a pianist, she has served as organist at Memorial Episcopal Church in Baltimore since 2022. She is on the faculties of Georgetown University and Loyola University Maryland and maintains a private teaching studio. She has served as a faculty artist at the Rushmore Music Festival, where she taught and performed, and is the Artistic Director of Chamber Music in Historic Landmarks, a concert series in partnership with Manor Mill in Monkton, Maryland.

Her accolades include top prizes in the Taiwan Cultural Cup Invitational and the Taiwan National Student Music Competition. She has appeared at festivals such as the Taos School of Music, the Beethoven Institute, and the Paris Piano Program.

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Dr. Su began piano at age four and later earned her Doctor of Musical Arts, Graduate Performance Diploma, and Master of Music from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Seth Knopp and Benjamin Pasternack.

She currently resides in Baltimore with her husband, a jazz musician, and their tuxedo cat, Sanji.
