faculty chamber Music Concert Series

2019 Season

Each summer, the internationally acclaimed Faculty Artists of the Rushmore Music Festival who mentor the talented students in the Summer Academy, present a professional series of chamber music concerts in the Black Hills. This summer, there will be THREE different programs, "Time for Two”, “Colors // Textures”, and “Epic Journeys”, each to be performed once in Spearfish and once in Rapid City.

The first program will highlight a number of faculty artists playing duo and sonata repertoire to represent the progression of the “sonata” in time, from Baroque to 20th Century. The second program will represent the endless variety of textures and colors that are contrasted between three vastly different composers and their compositional palettes. The final program will present the two pillars of 19th century chamber music, as well as showcase one student chamber group from the RMF Summer Academy.
