Kelsey Capotrio is a self-taught artist who grew up in a creative and artistic family. The family always gets together for everything from elaborate costume parties to baking days and, of course, crafting of all sorts. She draws inspiration from nature, spirituality, the universe, family, and all things weird but beautiful in her artwork.

Kelsey enjoys painting with acrylics in a colorful, high-contrast, and cartoony style. Art and creating has always been her favorite hobby, and she's turned them into a passion. "When I'm creating, I feel my happiest, my mind is free, my heart is full, and I'm at peace."

Kelsey grew up in Sturgis and has lived in the Black Hills her whole life. Her family has always been something she values above everything else. Her Grandpa is a successful and distinguished sculptor who has always encouraged her to follow her dreams.

Sometimes, your dreams have to be set aside in order to fulfill other dreams. These last four years, Kelsey's main focus has been creating a family of her own. Her sons Landon (12) and Wylder (3), along with daughter Wendolyn (1), fill her days with joy.

They live in a cattle ranch in Vale, SD, with her partner Collin Duprel. "I love being a parent; it's something I was born to do. I can't wait to share art with my children and give more of my time to my second love of art when the time is right."
